"I heard about the Lemonade Pet Insurance $1,000 Scholarship through Instagram, while scrolling for a break between studying. Winning felt surreal. I'm in my first semester of an accelerated nursing program at Keiser University in Tampa, juggling classes, clinicals, and work, so it doesn't leave much room to feel like the effort is being noticed. This scholarship was a reminder that it is. My path here wasn't straight. I once wanted to be an FBI agent, then considered ultrasound tech, and worked as a medical assistant along the way. What stuck with me was how much I loved being closely involved in patient care and advocating for patients — which led me straight to nursing. I'm still deciding my specialty between midwifery, nurse education, and becoming a nurse practitioner, but each path centers on staying personally involved in patient care and advocacy. This scholarship brings that goal a little closer, and I'm truly grateful."
