This scholarship was a reminder that it is. My path here wasn't straight. I once wanted to be an FBI agent, then considered ultrasound tech, and worked as a medical assistant along the way. What stuck with me was how much I loved being closely involved in patient care and advocating for patients — which led me straight to nursing. I'm still deciding my specialty between midwifery, nurse education, and becoming a nurse practitioner, but each path centers on staying personally involved in patient care and advocacy. This scholarship brings that goal a little closer, and I'm truly grateful."
