Introduction to ScholarshipRed

ScholarshipRed awards scholarships to students with red hair. This is the only scholarship of its kind. Winners may use the scholarship money at an accredited two or four-year college.

Eligibility

To be eligible for the scholarship, applicants must meet the following qualifications:

  • Be a high school junior or senior
  • Be a natural redhead
  • Be a resident of the U.S 
  • Have a minimum of 2.5 GPA out of 4.0

Can You Get This Scholarship For Being Strawberry Blonde? 

Good news if this is you. You can get this scholarship for being strawberry blonde! You are eligible to apply for the scholarship just like a student with red hair.

Scholarship Amount 

The Redhead Scholarship is worth $500.

How to Apply 

To apply for the Redhead Scholarship, you must submit a photo of yourself and a photo from your childhood. This is to prove your hair color. You must also send your high school transcript. The transcript can be a photocopy, it doesn’t need to be something official.

The third part of the application invites applicants to get creative. You must submit a piece that represents what it means to you to be a redhead. You may submit an essay, a drawing, a YouTube video, or anything else you come up with. You may write about a funny story or an experience you have had that happened because you’re a redhead.

There is a big emphasis placed on the creative part of the application. This is the place to show the scholarship committee who you are. Invest time working on something that really expresses what being a redhead means to you.

Applicants must submit all documents to scholarshipred@gmail.com. In the subject of the email, write your name, along with the year of the application. For example, “Sam Johnson 2020 Application.” 

Deadline

The deadline for the scholarship is typically in April.

If you are a redheaded student, you should definitely apply for ScholarshipRed. It doesn’t take a lot of time to apply for the scholarship and you don’t need to have very high grades to win. Because there aren’t many redheaded students in the U.S, your chances of winning are higher.
