This month, Chloe Middleton is in the spotlight! Chloe was the well-deserved winner of the $1500 “Make a Difference Scholarship” on the ScholarshipOwl platform! What led you to join ScholarshipOwl?

I heard about ScholarshipOwl through their Instagram account and have loved using it! It makes finding and applying for scholarships so much easier.

Have you received any other scholarships from other sources beyond ScholarshipOwl?

In addition to the “Make a Difference Scholarship” that I earned through ScholarshipOwl, I also received the $15,000 Cutlass Scholarship from Charleston Southern University!

What features of the ScholarshipOwl platform do you find most helpful, and why?

My favorite part is seeing how many people have applied!

Compared to other methods of searching/applying for scholarships, what do you like best about the ScholarshipOwl platform?

I was pretty stressed about finding scholarships until I found this website. I love how unique the scholarships are on the ScholarshipOwl platform! 

Which scholarship type(s) do you like the most, and why?

The social media related posts are my favorite!

Applying for scholarships takes time, energy and persistence. How do you stay motivated to apply for scholarships?

I have a website that calculates how much I have left to pay for for college. And the immense amount motivates me to keep applying!

We would love to hear about your scholarship strategies! When you are using the scholarship platform, how do you decide which scholarships to apply for?

I always sort my matches by deadline so that I can focus on the ones that are closest.

What tip(s) can you offer to students that might boost their chances of earning scholarships through the ScholarshipOwl platform?

Personalize them! Make yourself stand out to the scholarship providers who are reviewing the applications.

How has the ScholarshipOwl community on Discord helped you with your college planning, financial aid / scholarship questions, and/or applying for college?

It’s fun to see all the other people who are “in the same boat” as you.

When you found out you had won a scholarship through our platform, how did it make you feel?

I was literally texting in all caps and I called my boyfriend right away to tell him!

If you could give one piece of advice to other students, what would it be?

Don’t give up up even if you aren’t winning any scholarships!
