What Is the Dr. Pepper Scholarship?<\/h2>\n

The Dr. Pepper Scholarship awards students with up to $100,000 in college tuition<\/a>. Twenty applicants win a trip for two to a conference championship football game. The championship games are the ACC, Big Ten, Big 12, Pac-12, and SEC.<\/span><\/p>\n

Applicants compete in a \u201cGrand Prize Game\u201d at halftime to win scholarship money. Five competitors win grand prizes for $100,000 each. Five win runner-up prizes for $20,000 each and ten win consolation prizes for $2,500.<\/span><\/p>\n

How Do I Enter to Win the Tuition Giveaway?<\/h2>\n

To apply, first, you need to create a profile <\/span>here<\/span><\/a>. You must submit a statement on your goals and how you would like to change the world. Your goal should be something that you want to dedicate yourself to achieving. If you love animals, your goal could be to become a vet.<\/span><\/p>\n

To move on to the next round, you must get 50 votes from friends and family. You may change your statement up until you reach 50 votes.<\/span><\/p>\n

After receiving 50 votes, you must upload a video of one minute or less. In the video, discuss your academic and professional goals. How will the scholarship<\/a> impact your education and help you achieve your goals? How will this, in turn, change the world? Videos should be authentic and creative. You should mention Dr. Pepper in your video.<\/span><\/p>\n

You may not submit videos that have already won awards. You also may not submit published videos.<\/span><\/p>\n

After you submit a video, the scholarship committee will decide whether you\u2019re a finalist. You will receive notice by email.<\/span><\/p>\n

What Is the Dr. Pepper Challenge?<\/h2>\n

Twenty applicants compete in one of five football championship games. The challenge is to throw as many footballs as possible (out of 30) into a giant Dr. Pepper can in 30 seconds.<\/span><\/p>\n

The day before the game, applicants compete in the preliminary competition. The two winners compete the following day for the $100,000 grand prize.<\/span><\/p>\n

Scholarship Requirements<\/b><\/h2>\n

  • U.S legal resident<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
      \n
    • Student between 18-24 years old<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      Students may not apply if the following conditions apply:<\/span><\/p>\n

      • They have immediate family members or household members who are employees, officers, or directors of any promotional party.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
          \n
        • They have immediate family members or household members who are owners or operators of the person in charge of purchasing or promotion decisions at retailers of Sponsor products.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
            \n
          • They are active NCAA collegiate athletes<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
              \n
            • They have played professional, semi-professional, or Division I collegiate football at any time.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

              Scholarship Deadline<\/b><\/h2>\n

              The deadline for the Dr. Pepper Scholarship is May 1, 2020.<\/span><\/p>\n

              Tips for Winning<\/h2>\n
                \n
              • Follow the rules: The Dr. Pepper scholarship doesn\u2019t have many eligibility requirements. But, it does have specific scholarship rules. Follow the specific deadlines for each part of the application. Also follow rules about the essay length, video length, and appropriate video content.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
                  \n
                • Express powerful content: Your content needs to wow the judges. Because you don\u2019t have much space to get your ideas across, make sure that they are clear and to the point.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
                    \n
                  • Look at past winners: Not sure what to write about? Look at past giveaway winners. Although ideas in your content need to be your own, seeing past content can give you an idea of what Dr. Pepper is looking for.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

                    • Mention Dr. Pepper: While this isn\u2019t a requirement, you definitely do not want to submit a video without a mention!<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

                      • Don\u2019t wait for the last minute: Although the personal statement and video are short, you should still invest time. Less space and time to impress the judges means that both pieces are going to have to have that wow factor.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

                        • Revise your work- You might not find this necessary because of the length, but it is a mistake not to look over your work. Have family members revise your work and even teachers.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
