Scholarships help make getting a <a href=\"https:\/\/scholarshipowl.com\/blog\/college-life\/what-is-a-terminal-degree\/\">degree<\/a> much more affordable. If you live in the mitten state, you shouldn\u2019t think twice about applying.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Michigan is home to the University of Michigan, one of the best public universities in the United States. There are also many other great schools. It\u2019s no surprise that many students choose to study in the state.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Unfortunately, Michigan is in the top ten list of states with the highest in-state <a href=\"https:\/\/scholarshipowl.com\/blog\/life-hacks\/tuition-fee\/\">tuition<\/a>. Students choosing to study in-state are going to want to apply to college scholarships in order to lower <a href=\"https:\/\/scholarshipowl.com\/blog\/find-scholarships\/the-cost-of-tuition-across-the-united-states\/\">costs<\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>Michigan Scholarships<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.setfund.org\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">SET Educational Fund<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Students with <a href=\"https:\/\/scholarshipowl.com\/blog\/apply-for-scholarships\/financial-need-scholarship-essay-examples\/\">financial need<\/a> and a commitment to <a href=\"https:\/\/scholarshipowl.com\/blog\/apply-for-scholarships\/how-many-community-service-hours-do-you-need-for-scholarships\/\">community service<\/a> may apply. They must be Michigan residents and enrolled at a <a href=\"https:\/\/scholarshipowl.com\/blog\/guides\/difference-between-college-and-university\/\">college or university<\/a> in Michigan. The scholarship is for $6,500.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/pagancollegescholarship.org\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Michigan Pagan Scholarship Fund<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A <a href=\"https:\/\/scholarshipowl.com\/blog\/guides\/scholarships-for-high-school-seniors\/\">high school senior<\/a>, undergraduate, or <a href=\"https:\/\/scholarshipowl.com\/blog\/guides\/graduate-school-scholarships\/\">graduate<\/a> student may apply. Applicants must live in Michigan and have a minimum 2.85 <a href=\"https:\/\/scholarshipowl.com\/blog\/guides\/whats-the-difference-between-weighted-and-unweighted-gpa\/\">GPA<\/a>. They also must be Pagan and accepted to a four-year college or university. Scholarships are for $500.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.jewelcontinuumfoundation.com\/current-scholarships.html\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Jewel Continuum Foundation Scholarship<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Graduating seniors from high schools in Oakland, Wayne and Macomb Counties may apply. Applicants must be enrolled in a 2- or 4-year institution. They must submit a <a href=\"https:\/\/scholarshipowl.com\/blog\/apply-for-scholarships\/write-a-killer-scholarship-personal-statement-w-example\/\">personal statement<\/a>. The scholarship is for $500.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.michiganspe.org\/scholarships\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Michigan Society of Professional Engineers<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">High school seniors and residents of Michigan may apply. Applicants must be enrolled in an engineering degree program at a Michigan ABET-accredited college or university. They must have a minimum 3.0 GPA during their sophomore and <a href=\"https:\/\/scholarshipowl.com\/blog\/apply-for-scholarships\/13-scholarships-for-high-school-juniors-and-sooner\/\">junior year of high school<\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.kidschanceofmi.org\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Kids\u2019 Chance of Michigan<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Students whose parents died or got injured in a work-related accident may apply. They must be between the ages of 17-22 and have financial need. They also must pursue a degree at a college, community college, trade or vocational school in Michigan. The scholarship amount is $5,000.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.michigantownships.org\/scholarship.asp\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Michigan Townships Association<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The MTA awards scholarships in memory of Robert R. Robinson. Applicants must be college juniors, seniors, or graduate students pursuing public administration. Applicants must show academic achievement and community involvement. Students should also show a commitment to a career in local government administration. Scholarships are for $1,000.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/nma1.org\/141\/speech-contest\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Leadership Speech Contest<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">High school students from Southeast Michigan may apply to win a scholarship. Applicants must research, write and deliver a 4-6 minute speech on leadership. They will give their speeches at an NMA meeting. The top three winners of the southeast Michigan contest will receive $500, $250, and $100. The first place winner advanced to the regional contest. The winner from that moves on to the national speech competition. The total scholarship award is $5,500.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.gratiotfoundation.org\/1\/280\/loren_and_becky_roslund_scholarship.asp\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Loren and Becky Roslund Scholarship<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignright wp-image-5727\" src=\"https:\/\/scholarshipowl.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/helloquence-5fNmWej4tAA-unsplash.jpg\" alt=\"Scholarships in Michigan\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\" \/>Graduating high school seniors in Gratiot County may apply. They must pursue a degree in agriculture, engineering, computers, drafting or a similar area of study. Applicants must have a minimum 2.5 GPA. They also must show financial need. Scholarships are for $1,000.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.rosaparksscholarship.org\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Rosa Parks Scholarship Foundation<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Seniors at a high school in Michigan can apply to win $2,000. They must have a minimum 2.5 GPA. They must write an essay on how they&#8217;ll use Rosa Parks&#8217; principles to battle one of today&#8217;s social issues. Applicants also must send recommendations.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.retailers.com\/member-benefits\/scholarship-program\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Michigan Retailers Foundation<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">,<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">High school seniors or college freshman, sophomores, and juniors can win $1,500. They must have a parent who works in a business that is a member of the MRA.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.michigan.gov\/mdard\/0,4610,7-125-1571_40997---,00.html\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Michigan Youth Livestock Scholarship Fund<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Graduating high school seniors and residents of Michigan may apply. Students must be youth exhibitors at the Michigan State Fair, the Michigan Livestock Expo or the Michigan Dairy Expo. The scholarship award is $3,000.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/calvin.academicworks.com\/opportunities\/14490\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Michmerhuizen Family Scholarship<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Applicants must be a graduate of Holland Christian High School with a minimum 3.0 GPA. They must be entering <a href=\"https:\/\/scholarshipowl.com\/blog\/college-life\/surviving-freshman-year\/\">freshman year<\/a> at Calvin College. Preference is for students with multiple sclerosis who have a <a href=\"https:\/\/scholarshipowl.com\/blog\/apply-for-scholarships\/colleges-meet-financial-need-without-loans\/\">financial need<\/a>. Students must have a strong connection to Christianity. The scholarship award is $1,400. It is renewable if students maintain a 2.5 GPA.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/discover.alpenacc.edu\/document_center\/Admissions\/current_students\/scholarship_brochure_2019.pdf\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Alpena Community College<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">ACC awards a large number of scholarships to students. The Robert L. Schulke Memorial Scholarship awards students who are cancer survivors. Applicants may also apply if they have an immediate family member that is a cancer survivor or has passed away to cancer. Preference is for students in a <a href=\"https:\/\/scholarshipowl.com\/blog\/find-scholarships\/16-scholarships-health-medicine-majors\/\">health field<\/a> or <a href=\"https:\/\/scholarshipowl.com\/blog\/apply-for-scholarships\/law-enforcement-scholarships\/\">law enforcement<\/a> program. Applicants must be residents of Alpena County and have a minimum 2.5 GPA.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/cfsem.org\/scholarships\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Community Foundation for Southeast Michigan<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Community Foundation for Southeast Michigan awards many scholarships. There are scholarships for graduating high school seniors, college students, and non traditional students. Awards range from $250-$7,000.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.saulttribe.com\/membership-services\/education\/15-membership-services\/education\/44-higher-education\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Sault Tribe Higher Education Grant Program<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Applicants must be Sault Tribe members attending a two- or four-year college or university in Michigan. They must have a minimum 2.5 GPA. They should also show financial need and file the <a href=\"https:\/\/scholarshipowl.com\/blog\/guides\/complete-guide-on-how-to-answer-fafsa-questions\/\">FAFSA<\/a>. Hart Memorial Scholarship<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Graduates of Michigan high schools or community colleges may apply. They must plan to attend Lake Superior State University. They also must have a current minimum 3.0 GPA and show an interest in public service. To apply, they must submit a letter of recommendation and a personal statement.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.gerberfoundation.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/Medallion-pdf.pdf\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Daniel Gerber, Sr. Medallion Scholarship<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Students graduating from select school districts in Newaygo County, Michigan may apply. They must have a minimum 3.71 GPA. Applicants must be planning to pursue a bachelor\u2019s or associate\u2019s degree, or go to technical or trade school. The scholarship is for $10,600 over 4 years.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.grfoundation.org\/apply-for-scholarships\/general-application\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Grand Rapid Community Foundation Scholarships<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The GRCF awards hundreds of scholarships every year. Applicants must be from Kent County. Applicants fill out one general application for consideration for over 70 different scholarships. They must list awards, volunteer, employment and extracurricular activities. They also must send financial information, a personal statement and their academic transcript.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/detroitashrae.starchapter.com\/images\/downloads\/Scholarship\/2019_ashrae_scholarship_information.pdf\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Joseph B. Olivieri Scholarship<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignleft wp-image-5728\" src=\"https:\/\/scholarshipowl.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/daniel-mccullough-FPFq_trr2Y-unsplash.jpg\" alt=\"Scholarships in Michigan\" width=\"300\" height=\"169\" \/>Full-time students in Hillsdale, Jackson, Lenawee, Livingston, Macomb, Monroe, Oakland, Washtenaw, and Wayne counties may apply. Students must be pursuing degrees at an ABET\/NAAB accredited college or university. They must be studying engineering or architecture and have a minimum 3.0 GPA. They need to write an essay on sustainability and environmental control systems.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/wmich.edu\/sites\/default\/files\/attachments\/u593\/2016\/Roscoe-Douglas.pdf\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Roscoe Douglas Scholarship<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Michigan residents studying manufacturing engineering may apply to win $1,000. They must be undergraduate students at Western Michigan with a minimum 3.0 GPA.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/skandalaris.org\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Skandalaris Family Foundation Scholarship<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Michigan residents who show leadership and special talents may apply to win $2,000. Applicants must attend an undergraduate college or university and have a minimum 3.4 GPA.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.michigan.gov\/mistudentaid\/0,4636,7-372--481217--,00.html\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Police and Firefighters Survivors Tuition Grant<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Surviving spouses or children of a deceased officer or firefighter may apply. They get tuition waived at a Michigan community college or public university. Applicants must be residents of Michigan.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.michigan.gov\/mistudentaid\/0,4636,7-372--481214--,00.html\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Michigan Competitive Scholarship<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Undergraduate students pursuing their first degree may apply. The scholarship is <a href=\"https:\/\/scholarshipowl.com\/blog\/apply-for-scholarships\/how-to-win-a-national-merit-scholarship\/\">merit-based<\/a> and students must show a financial need. Applicants must be pursuing a nursing certification or degree at a\u00a0 Michigan college or university. The student must remain in good academic standing.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.maryfreebed.com\/jobs\/minority-disability-scholarships\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Minority Scholarship Program by the Mary Free Bed Guild of Grand Rapids<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Applicants must be enrolled in a <a href=\"https:\/\/scholarshipowl.com\/blog\/guides\/how-to-become-a-psychiatrist\/\">therapy<\/a> or nursing program at an accredited college\/university.\u00a0 They must maintain a 3.0 minimum GPA in college. The applicant must be of an ethnic or racial minority group and a Michigan resident. Scholarships range from $1,000-$5,000.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.wnj.com\/Careers\/Diversity\/Minority-Scholarships-and-Applications\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Warner Norcross and Judd LLP Scholarship for Minority Students<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The law firm awards $5,000 to a law school student, $2,000 to a paralegal\/legal assistant student and $1,000 to a legal secretarial student. Applicants must be accepted to or attending a Michigan <a href=\"https:\/\/scholarshipowl.com\/blog\/find-scholarships\/everything-about-law-school-scholarships\/\">law school<\/a>. Students must live in Michigan. They must attend a school in Michigan. They also must volunteer for 6 hours to support any AAWBC annual activities. Applicants may win $1,000.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/diabetesscholars.org\/college-scholarship\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Dallas-Plangetis Scholarship<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">High school seniors with Type 1 diabetes may apply. They must be from Washtenaw County. They must also attend an accredited four year university, college, technical or trade school. Students can win between $1,000-$5,000.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.detroitchamber.com\/econdev\/education-and-talent\/detroit-promise\/four-year-students\/#eligible-funding\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Detroit Promise Scholarship<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Applicants must be from Detroit. They must have plans to attend one of 18 partnering Michigan Universities. The scholarship covers fees that remain after the <a href=\"https:\/\/scholarshipowl.com\/blog\/apply-for-scholarships\/everything-pell-grants\/\">Pell Grant<\/a>. Students must maintain a 2.5 GPA, be a full-time student, and complete a four-year degree.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.cuone.org\/about\/scholarships.aspx\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">William G. This list is a good start but there are even more out there.
