A large number of scholarships require students to write an essay. They supply you with a question or a number of questions and ask you to write a response.<\/span><\/p>\n

You don\u2019t need to be J.K. Rowling to write a good essay. But, you do need to express yourself in an authentic way and show why you are deserving of the scholarship.<\/span><\/p>\n

There are many scholarships which award students who are residents of a community. You can find scholarships in your area on the internet or in your local community. Of course, these scholarships require you to be from a certain location or a resident of the location.<\/span><\/p>\n

Not every scholarship requires you to submit SAT or ACT scores, but many do. This is especially true of merit scholarships. The minimum requirement for merit scholarships is typically 1200 on the SAT and 26 on the ACT. If the scholarship does require you to submit your test scores, they might state what the minimum qualifying score is.<\/span><\/p>\n
